How to Join SV Indie Sky crew

Step 1: Choose An Expedition

Choose an expedition and let us know what seamanship skills or adventure training you’re looking to develop. This isn’t just a trip—it’s your chance to crew on a real sailing vessel and start living the kind of story you’ll be proud to tell for the rest of your life.

Step 2: Lock in your Crew Position

Secure your spot with a $500 USD deposit.
The remaining balance and refundable damage deposit are due no later than 60 days prior to your scheduled departure date.

Step 3: Sign a Waiver

Before you come aboard, make sure you understand what it means to be Crew on SV Indie Sky.
Review the details carefully — this isn’t just a ride, it’s a hands-on, full-participation adventure.

Step 4: Dial In Travel Docs

Make sure you are in possession of a valid passport that has at least 6 months remaining prior to its expiration.  You also are responsible for obtaining any applicable visas for countries we may visit.  Additionally you may need proof of return travel.

Step 5: Get Medical/evacuation Insurance

You are responsible for ensuring that you have insurance to cover shore-based medical treatment, rescue, and medical evacuation if required.

Step 6: Consider Travel Insurance

Life is unpredictable — and so is the sea. Travel insurance protects you from unexpected disruptions as you get to and from SV Indie Sky.
