While not mandatory, travel insurance is strongly recommended for all guests and crew joining SV Indie Sky. Travel insurance can protect you financially in the event of:

• Trip cancellations or delays
   
• Lost or delayed baggage
   
• Travel disruptions due to weather, illness, or border issues
   
• Non-refundable expenses (e.g., flights, hotels, expedition fees)
   

Life happens — and so does weather. Although we do our best to run on schedule, sailing expeditions are dependent on conditions outside our control. Travel insurance helps ensure that you won’t suffer financial losses if:

• Your flight is canceled or delayed
   
• You get sick or injured before departure
   
• You need to cancel your trip for a covered reason
   
• A storm forces a last-minute route or schedule change
   

When choosing a travel insurance policy, look for:

• Trip cancellation & interruption coverage
   
• Coverage for adventure travel and sailing
   
• Delay and baggage protection
   
• “Cancel for Any Reason” upgrade (optional but useful)
   

Be sure to purchase your policy shortly after booking your trip to access the full benefits, especially for “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage.
